Time to Start Thinking About the New Year
Now that Christmas is over, it’s time to start finalizing my New Year’s resolutions. I haven’t even checked how we did with the ones I made for 2008. I’ll probably see how we did this weekend. As for 2009, I haven’t put much thought into our financial goals. I think I’m still amazed that 2008 is almost over.
If you are having a hard time figuring out where to start with some financial resolutions for 2009, you may want to check out this article that was sent to me by a reader.
Suze Orman is working with Oprah to help everyone get a fresh financial start. She will be on Oprah in the beginning of January as part of her Best Life series. I can’t seem to find the exact date she’ll be on, so you’ll have to check local listings. If I happen to find it – I’ll let you know.
In the article above, Suze has some solid tips. I especially like her #1 suggestion: No Blame, No Shame. I agree to have that one as the beginning tip. It was hard to wipe our emotions away from our past financial mistakes, but it’s something we definitely had to do to move forward. Yeah, we screwed up and got buried in credit card debt. But we learned from our mistakes and moved on.
Thanks Beverly for sending me the article!
UPDATE: Beverly found the complete schedule for Oprah’s Best Life series:
Suze will be on Thursday, January 8, 2009.
